Types of workflows
Backshop offers three types of workflows:
Templated. These are created ahead of time by your project manager or project admin to handle most major needs. This is by far the most common type of workflow. Everything is locked in. There are usually interactions and dependencies within the workflow.
Ad Hoc. Ad Hoc workflows are created on the fly to meet specific, immediate needs.
Semi Ad Hoc. This is an ad hoc template that starts with preset items but allows room for customization and changes.
Both Ad Hoc and Semi Ad Hoc workflows offer Edit and Copy links in their Actions lines near the top of the page.
- Edit: This is what it sounds like. It brings up the edit interface, where you can drag/drop items to your heart’s content. If you want to make this sweet workflow available within the Admin section, click the Add Workflow Template To Admin button at the top right of the page.
- Copy: This also is what it sounds like. Example of use: If your deal has three notes, and you want the same workflow for all of them, you can copy the workflow then assign a different entity (note) to each.
